Restaurant Review

I wanted to add a restaurant review portion to the blog because I always have people asking me what my restaurant opinion.  One of my favorite restaurants in Laguna is 230 Forest Avenue, which I will do a review on one of these days.  A couple of years ago they opened up a sister property called Watermark.  It is a great restaurant for tapas style plates to share.  Here is what I would recommend getting while dining there.

Try their grazing plates.  You can share with another person and they are delicious.  My favorites are the warm blue cheese pear tart and the flatbreads.

The cedar planked salmon is a great main dish

or the grilled swordfish with orange butter
My favorite is the sea bass with lentils
Watermark is a contemporary and chic place to get a drink with friends or have a romantic meal with your special someone.  Try it and let me know what you think!

Summer Spread

It’s summer time!  Here are some great ideas from my catering events that you can do for July 4th or a summer pool party.

Serve refreshing drinks like iced tea and lemonade in large jars or have a fun station like a float bar!

Serve sliders and corn on the cob sticks or even cole slaw in a cabbage cup

For dessert have an ice cream sundae bar!

Easy as 1…2…3….

Pesto Shrimp

Ingredients:
Pre-made pesto or homemade
Frozen deveined peeled shrimp (uncooked)
Skewers

Directions:

Place frozen shrimp in colander and run cold water over to thaw.  Place on a foiled baking sheet and bake at 450 for about 10 minutes.  Toss the cooked shrimp with pesto and skewer on bamboo skewers.  Garnish with fresh basil leaves and enjoy!  These babies go quickly so watch out!

My Birthday Dinner

I have the most amazing mom in the world!  She made me an amazing birthday dinner and I wanted to share it because I thought it was so cute and delicious.
